Whispering Oak Elementary PTO Teacher Grant Guidelines 2018 - 2019
Eligibility: In order to apply for a grant, the teacher must be a PTO member. The only exception to this rule is if a teacher is part of a grade level grant request or Special Area collective grant (at least one teacher must be a PTO member).
Criteria: Grants will help to foster the mission statement of the WOE PTO. Portable electronic devices are not eligible for grants (i.e. iPads, tablets, Nooks, Kindles, etc.)
Amount: Up to $200 for an individual grant, up to $500 for a grade level grant and up to
$1,000 per Special Area (Art, Media, Music, PE and STEM).
Application Process: Grant applications will be accepted from October 1, 2018 - February 28, 2019. Only one application may be submitted per teacher per year, but an individual can also be part of a grade level grant request in addition to their individual request. Special Areas are only eligible for the collective grant amount. All grant requests must have approval from Mr. Montgomery. Incomplete applications will be returned. The PTO board will meet on a regularly basis to review all applications. The applicants will be notified whether the application was approved or declined.
Once all of the allocated funds have been disbursed, the grant window will be closed, which may be sooner than the previously stated deadline.
Awarded: Each voting PTO Board member will complete an evaluation rubric for all
submitted grants. If approved, item(s) will be ordered and paid for by the PTO.
Grant Recipients: Grant recipients will be asked to report back to the PTO regarding the
effectiveness of the grant.
Please note the PTO will not reimburse teachers for expenditures already made.
